Hello there, and thanks for stopping in at October's End! What you'll find within these virtual walls is my own little serene corner of the world, where I offer up to you a multitude of places to explore, as well as feed that craving within your soul for it's own piece of the world wide web.
While the site is no longer "new", per se, there may still be areas which are inaccessible to the general public. Just bear with me as I get all of these things implemented as time permits.
In the meantime, the navigation menu to your left will serve as your guide throughout your journey. The "Home" link will always return you to this very page at which you gaze. All links, with the exception of those pointing to outside URLs, will always open in this window.
I would also like to point out that some portions of the site listed under "Maevyn's Corner" are only accessible to friends & family, and as such, are open by invitation only. I thank you kindly in advance for respecting my privacy, as well as that of my loved ones. :)
About Mae & October's End
As I'm sure you've guessed by now, my name is Maevyn. I'm 34 years old, mother to one extraordinary young lady, and wife to an amazing military officer. I have owned, designed, and maintained several websites over the past few years. In the end, none seemed to really suit my needs or define my spirit the way this one does. October's End has undoubtedly been a dream come true for me, and has taken me literally years to manifest. Many years ago, I had the opportunity to travel with my aunt & uncle through the lower East part of the U.S., and on that trip, we dined at a lovely little restaurant by the name of - you guessed it - October's End. I remember the view from there being absolutely stunning. While I have no idea if that quaint little restaurant is still there, it's memory has lingered fondly with me all these years.
That memory, coupled with my purest passion for the Autumn season & all of the poetic/spiritual energy that accompanies it led me on a 10 year quest for the exact place in which you find me. You see, I'd spent all those years settling for domain after domain, never truly happy with them; this one was always spoken for. Once upon a time several months back, I happened to be updating domain information for another website I'd owned, and decided, just for kicks, to see if this one was available. Much to my eager delight, it was no longer taken, and the rest, my dears....is blissful history. :)
The original purpose of this site - of all of my sites in the past, really - was to showcase my humble design portfolio and offer my freelance services to those individuals seeking to establish their own beautiful web presence. While I still offer that, albeit a whisper on a seasonal breeze, you will find more abundantly the personal aspects of me & mine within this domain - the blog, photo gallery, gaming resources, etc. Everything is a constant work in progress, for I truly believe that creativity and the proces by which we create are endless.
